Sham Shui Po DX Design Gallery | Hong Kong Design Centre presents the exhibition 'Rhythmic Board - The Beat of Skateboard Culture'
Description
After the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, skateboarding has transformed into a fashionable and popular mainstream sport. The exhibition is named 'Rhythmic Board - The Beat of Skateboard Culture'. The term 'Rhythmic Board' draws inspiration from 'dropping in', a fundamental move in skateboarding, symbolizing the starting point of mastering the basics and progressing layer by layer, leaping forward and experiencing the joy from the rich and diverse skateboard culture. The exhibition covers skateboarding's development, its extension into graffiti and street art, fashion and music trends, and the redesign of skateboards for secondary use, offering a comprehensive showcase of skateboarding's diverse facets and rich essence.
The exhibition features a special two-finger board experience area where visitors can not only appreciate the exhibition and learn about skateboard culture but also experience the sliding and fancy moves of a two-finger board with their fingertips, feeling the creativity and vitality embodied in this sport and further grasping the unique charm of skateboard culture.
